Division of Facilities Improvement & Maintenance
The Public School System’s division of Facilities Improvement and Maintenance is tasked with monitoring, caring for, and prolonging the useful life of PSS assets. These assets included school buildings, classrooms, vehicles, air conditions, and furniture. To carry this out, the division carries out general maintenance and repair work on PSS properties. These range from building new classrooms and furniture to building and furniture repairs, vehicle repairs and tune-ups.
The division is also in charge of student transportation in the urban areas of Majuro atoll and Ebeye, Kwajalein atoll. It maintains a fleet of school buses and manages the bus drivers.
The Division conducts energy audit of the Public School System offices and schools in order to find ways to reduce energy consumption.
Finally, the division is also responsible for the distribution of PSS supplies outer islands schools.
