This year's theme "Inclusion Matters: Access and Empowerment for People of all Abilities."
During the celebration of International Day of Persons with Disability, Minister Dr. Hilda C. Heine shares with the audience that there are about seven hundred children in the Marshall Islands who are part of various programs in the special education program. There are about forty students who are part of the deaf program. They learn how to write and sign language and other skills that will help them in today's society.
Although there are obstacles, this year's theme tells us that inclusion matters. Minister Heine states that "we all should help each other so that everyone (those with or without a disabillity) can be a part of society.
